SMS widget 1.4 Released!

Download it!

What’s new in version 1.4:

  • Added support for SunCom in the USA.
  • Added support for Bell Mobility in Canada.
  • Removes "Message Sent!" message after user types first character of next message.

The SMS widget allows you to send text messages to mobile phones for free. You don’t even need to have a phone at all! The widget works with most major carriers in the USA, as well as T-Mobile in Germany and several carriers in Canada.

The SMS widget integrates with the Mac OS X Address Book, so you can quickly select friends to contact. After you send a message, the widget remembers your friend’s carrier so that you don’t need to enter it in the future! You can include your mobile number or email as the reply address of your messages. This lets recipients reply to your SMS messages.

A free website for sending text messages is also available at:
https://keakaj.com/sms/sms.cgi

The widget currently supports Alltel, AT&T, Cingular, Nextel, Sprint, SunCom, T-Mobile, Verizon, Virgin Mobile, and Qwest in the USA, as well as T-Mobile in Germany. I am also beta testing Bell Mobility, Fido, Rogers, and TELUS in Canada.
